The IRS recently launched a new “IRS Account” portal for individual U.S. taxpayers, available at www.irs.gov/account (click the blue button that says “View your account”). Individuals who register and login to their secure accounts can review data from recently filed tax returns (Form 1040), obtain refund status information, and pay taxes online from a bank account or credit card account.

Additional Information about “IRS Account”
The IRS announced the launch of the “IRS Account” portal in a press release on March 19, 2018. The launch represents a significant achievement for the IRS Future State Initiative, which aims to harness tax technology to improve the user experience of all U.S. taxpayers.
The “IRS Account” portal integrates functions that the IRS previously offered in separate online tools. Taxpayers can still use these separate online tools—for example, “Where’s My Refund?” and “Direct Pay”. In addition, taxpayers can download the IRS2Go mobile app to look up refund status and make tax payments.
The “IRS Account” portal is available on Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 12:30 AM Eastern Time, and for limited hours on Saturday and Sunday.
